Medtech startups or established businesses looking to scale are encouraged to apply for one of the upcoming 16-week accelerator cohorts at the Center for MedTech Excellence.
Launched in September 2022, the Center for Medtech Excellence catalyzes the development and commercialization of breakthrough biotechnology, medical devices, life science and therapeutic innovations. Primary areas of focus include devices and sensors, digital tools and hardware, therapeutics, materials and manufacturing for startup, early and growth stage biotech companies.
“Housed in Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute and funded by a federal grant, the Center [provides] expertise in product realization, technology, medical device manufacturing, biotechnology, life science, and therapeutic innovations to early-stage entrepreneurs.
“It is a collaborative effort of two Enterprise Innovation Institute programs — the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) and the Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP) — and the Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI), a Georgia Tech affiliate.”
The Center recently announced dates for its 2023 and 2024 cohorts:
- 2023-May 8th to August 8th
- 2023-2024 October 9th to January 9th
- 2024- February 12th May 13th
- 2024- June 10th to September 9th
During the 16-week program, the Center will provide services to the cohort companies, including coaching/mentoring, capital raising, financial literacy, networking, site selection, cybersecurity, production scaling, product design, and development processes.
