ASIOAt T3 Labs, we live medtech and medical device innovation every day as an industry leading preclinical CRO. While our team constantly busies itself with the advancement of our sponsors’ journeys from concept to commercialization to cure, we maintain an active event schedule seeking to connect with medtech innovators across the country and the globe. Our colleague Jeremy Kimmel with ALung Technologies recommended the upcoming ASAIO conference in San Francisco, June 15-18. It didn’t take us long to realize that we definitely needed to attend.

“ASAIO (American Society for Artificial Internal Organs) is a world class society that has been in existence for over 55 years. It strives to ‘save lives one medical device at a time.’ ASAIO’s mission is to provide a forum that globally and collaboratively promotes the development of innovative medical device technology at the crossroads of science, engineering, and medicine.”

ALung1.1T3 Labs’ considerable capabilities in preclinical research models, particularly for heart and respiratory assist devices, ensure innovators in this space  move efficiently through their preclinical studies en route to regulatory approval, exit or other inflection point – just like we have for scores of companies like ALung. T3 Labs helped ALung bring the the world’s first fully-integrated system for Respiratory Dialysis, a simple approach to extracorporeal CO2 removal (ECCO2R), closer to U.S. FDA approval.

“T3’s recommendation for the model shift based on their experience and expertise was much more practical for this application based on our device’s capabilities and needs,” said Jeremy Kimmel, PhD Director of New Technology for ALung Technologies. “I am convinced this recommendation has accelerated our product refinement testing and preclinical trials saving ALung time and money at every step along the way.”

In addition to what looks like an intimate setting, the ASAIO 2016 program is full of compelling content and speakers. We are particularly looking forward to a full day learning about the latest in pediatric devices on Wednesday, June 15 as well as the following sessions:
