Over 2,000 physicians and allied health professionals participate in bioskills training programs at T3 Labs every year. Among them is Dr. Keith Delman, director of the Carlos and Davis Center for Surgical Anatomy and Technique at the Emory University School of Medicine. Board certified by the American Board of Surgery as well, Dr. Delman shared with us a few of the ways T3 Labs’ training programs provide the next generation with the critical bioskills needed to become practicing surgeons.
Where do bioskills training facilities frequently fall short?
“Service support and understanding needs of the learners are two ways that come to mind. Our needs vary depending on the goal of the training scenario or program. However, access to tissue, a quality O.R. environment and recording capabilities for review and further discussion of the processes being taught are top needs, of which T3 Labs does a high quality job of providing.”
How else does T3 Labs meet your bioskills training program needs?
“The T3 Labs team is full of knowledgeable, supportive and experienced professionals. The staff understands exactly what goes into tissue based education. The entire T3 team is helpful, kind, courteous, collaborative and easy to work with.
“We have worked hard with T3 to help them become a partner in our accreditation with the American College of Surgeons. T3 Labs serves as the base for our open tissue skills acquisition lab, providing a solid foundation for a meaningful enhancement to the students and faculty within the Emory School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery.”
Teaching the next generation of surgeons their craft
In Dr. Delman’s own words, his programs are, “designed to teach surgeons how to be surgeons.” T3 Labs is proud to provide the facilities, resources and team needed for Dr. Delman’s bioskills training programs with the Emory University School of Medicine.
